The Benefit of Calibrating the GPR Survey Wheel | Ground Penetrating Radar for Utility Locating

Calibrating your survey wheel can help increase your locational accuracy. In this video I show how calibrating the survey wheel on this system allowed me to come within centimeters on a 30 meter long transect. The point is that different ground conditions can alter the slippage rates of the survey wheel. This means that slippery circumstances such as wet grass or mud will cause the wheel to turn more slowly. On dry conditions such as the asphalt that I am working on in this video will make the wheel turn faster because of the high grip-ability. If you move from one context to another where the conditions may change the turn rates you should calibrate the survey wheel.
